An Allen head screw would have been preferable. Once mounted the laser is very compact, fits well on the rail and has a good amount of adjustment in order to get the laser close to the trigger guard. Looking forward to many years of fun with this combo. Review: What an Awesome Product ! - Matched this unit up with a Recover Grip/Rail on my Beretta 92FS. Both only took a total of 15 minutes. The LaserMax Allen wrench for mounting screws even fit the Beretta grip screws saving me a trip to the hardware store ! Aligning the laser took only a couple more minutes. While taking a proper sight picture with the weapon it took just a few partial turns on the vertical and horizontal adjust screws, with the second smaller included Allen wrench. Simply lined it up so the red dot hides behind the front sight post on a wall about 25 feet way and done. Bonus is that with the tiny movements present when holding an aim, the red dot on the target literally appears to light up the front sight post and that is with just plain old white three dot sights. Next day at the range the red dot was as dead on as needed for home defense, and as I am capable of shooting from 5-15 yards, hitting point of aim, and needed no further adjustment. Held zero through 100 rounds and since the "Wall Zero" seems to work perfect, for me anyway, the supposed hassle of having to remount and possibly re-zero the unit in order to change the one AAA battery just evaporated. Oh, and the unit comes with an extra AAA battery too....probably because they know you won't be able to resist drilling/training with it a lot when you first get it At first I was worried that the pale green 120 lumen light would be too week but by aiming at a large mirror with the light set on pulse, I can tell you that is not the case. As far as identifying "friend from foe" from 30-50 feet indoors it is a breeze in constant on or strobe. Plus from the weapon holder's perspective the greenish tint is easy on the eyes, even in strobe mode. Setting strobe or constant on is a breeze. Just hold the respective paddle down until it switches, let go, and you are done. Hitting both paddles make sure you use firm pressure with your finger tip... I have had no problems, even with medium hands on a full size pistol like the 92FS. The light (120 lumens) isn't incredibly bright, but does the job just fine. The laser is top notch though. Takes a second to sight and get used to, but it's A1 after adjustment. I have a SF pistol and it fit just fine and had it attached within minutes. Favorite thing about this attachment is the ambidextrous on/off buttons. My finger rests on them just right, outside the trigger guard. Though they're not incredibly high quality, as the buttons jiggle a bit, another positive is they both have individual buttons instead of a single button for both light and laser. Overall, pretty happy with the purchase.
