New keyboard
The letters on the keys were wearing off my old keyboard that came with the computer, so I looked at the part number on the underside and ordered the exact same part number. This made it a direct plug and use unit. No programing was required. These are brand new, good quality as the original had been in use for 4 1/2 years with no problems other than cosmetic. I would highly recommend this keyboard as the price is good and it is original equipment.

Professional quality keyboard at a reasonable price
Good solid keyboard. My previous HP computer came with an excellent keyboard, by the one that came with my new HP desktop had a cheap, flimsy keyboard.I wanted to use my old keyboard with my new computer, but that wasn't possible. So. I bought this one because it is a lot like my old keyboard. I made a good choice. Spacious keyboard, good key travel, nice layout. Has audio and video controls on the keyboard too, which is handy. There are lots of keyboard choices (I tried a few), but you get a professional quality keyboard at a fair price with this one.

It's a Decent Keyboard, but. . .
This keyboard in general is fine for what I need. The most annoying thing about it is the fact that the Delete, End, Home and Backspace keys are located in a very weird layout and I have to think before I use one of them. It is extremely aggravating, especially since I am a keyboarder/Transcriptionist, and the key placement feels very unnatural. Another negative would be that the keys feel a bit sticky, as I like a more "staccato" feel to my keyboard with a nice click. I find myself hitting the wrong keys more often than I would with a traditional keyboard.Overall, I like this keyboard and it is serving its purpose well to this point. I would recommend this product.

Key [and Hewlett Packard] stopped working
Bought keyboard 6 months ago (8/22/2013). Normal keyboard; but purchased because it controlled the media volume and mute. Without trauma of any kind, a key stopped working -- no sticking or resistance, just...nothing. Discovered it when my log-in wasn't accepted. Yikes. Spent nearly an hour (not worth my time, I know) on the phone with HP who bounced me around India trying to find someone who could recognize the part number and serial. Nobody could. I'm now assigned a case number... :((I've dragged out my $2.99 special in the meantime -- but at least IT works!)UPDATE 4/12/2014: WHAT A HORROR SHOW. HP still refuses to deal with the issue. I'm now up to about 10 hours of time on the phone with HP -- In India and the US. Both the commercial side and the commercial side says it is the other's responsibility. They use any tactic to obfuscate and divert. I even at one time did a phone patch between HP and Amazon when they INSISTED I had to produce a paper receipt for the keyboard (can't be done per Amazon). I have emailed photos of the manufacturer's tag, the pdf receipt -- everything possible. Then they hang up mid sentence, making me start over with someone new. Repeatedly. All in all, VERY, VERY, VERY poor customer service. Avoid Hewlett Packard at all costs. And for a $19.95 keyboard. <<sigh>>

the keyboard I received does not match the one in the picture. It works ok, but I was hoping for an exact match to my old one. The home, delete, and page up down keys are laid out differently and the functions keys are a lot further to the left.

HP Keyboard
ive had this keyboard for 5-6 months now and there is nothing wrong with it at all. couple of people have said that the ink wears off the keys after months of use. i have not had that problem and i use it about every day for maybe 3-6 hours and i use to play games with as well and the WSAD keys have the most wear and they look the same as all the rest do just as bright as when i bought it. as far as typing on it goes its a little different from what i have used in the past. the keys are flat like most any laptop keyboard and close together but they alot stiffer than most keyboards i didnt like it at first but the more i used it the more i began to like it. and typing on it is pretty quiet, if your like me and type smooth but solid with light keystrokes. the home, delete, end, page up, page down keys are differently placed than most other standard keyboards. they are vertically placed with the Delete key and home key on the left with Pg up, pg down, and end key on the right. the delete key is the same size as the enter key. i thought it was weird at first but i found i liked that cause it makes delete easier to hit. the volume buttons are nice and conveniently placed at the top right of the keyboard. i mostly just bought this to get away from gaming keyboards ive bought several gaming keyboards only to find them to lock up and unusable after a month of use. after this HP one breaks (whenever it does) i'm straight up buying a new one cause i love it!

Not a good keyboard
I hate this keyboard. I needed a new keyboard but I didn't have a lot of money at the time to invest in a higher cost keyboard. I do realize that you often do get what you pay for. In this case that is certainly true, though it seems the reviews for this keyboard are much more generous then they should be.First off, at the time of purchase, the picture of the product was wrong. It has been since corrected thankfully. My main problem with the board is mainly the sizing of the keys on the middle to right side of the board. They are just too small. I have big hands and I find using the middle keys very difficult. In fact most of the I need to look down to find the proper key I'm pressing, such as delete or page up or anything on the number pad.The arrow keys are almost level with the surface of the keyboard. Added to the very small size of the arrow keys, it makes them very hard to use. Being that I often use the arrow keys for games I have a big problem with that.As for typing, other than those problems all the other keys are of a decent size. I plan to use this for a few more months then upgrade to a more expensive and better designed keyboard.
