They seem too fat and won't go in the slots. I got a green one in the middle slot but was hard getting back out.** A: Place the stretch rubber cable into one of the three slots in the handle, then use the included rubber ball stopper to lock cable in place. My rubber cables came with metal connectors attached, so I just threaded the rubber part in the handle slot and pulled tight. **Q: are the handles for the 100 lb cable different?** A: No. The same handles work with all size cables up to the the black 100 lb. **Q: can you combine different resistance bands at the same time eg. 1-30# with 1-10# to make 40# total?** A: Yes. There's not much to say here. But this are the most sturdy and reliable handles you can get for your bands. Since they are both one piece, that means that the cable won't snap from the band and hit you on the face when doing pull ups.
