Best Iron Ever!
This review is for the Panasonic Cordless Iron, Portable 360-Degree Freestyle Dry/Steam Iron with Precision Tips. Lovely turquoise blue.I have over 50 years of sewing experience. I am 70 and I sew nearly everyday. I have owned many, many irons. This particular iron checks quite a few of the boxes that I look for.Cordless is so much nicer than fighting with a cord dragging over fabric, edges of board, under the sole plate of the iron...The cradle fits the iron nicely, is stable, does not move around on the ironing board. Retractable cord in cradle allows you to adjust length. I have a larger size ironing board, but I would not hesitate to use this on a standard size board. The steam system is wonderful. This iron has not spit out any water, has not dripped because it was not hot enough. You can shut the steam off and it goes off right away without any extra steam coming out. Could not believe it worked so well. There are times when you need steam and times when you don't while sewing. No waiting around for the steam to disappear. Flip the button over to no steam and it is gone. The other steam settings work perfectly. The water tank holds more water than many other irons I have had. Being able to remove it to fill is great! The iron gets nice and hot. Does not take too long after auto off. Seams lay flat, bias bindings press right into shape. I fused appliques today and there was not any problem at all. Plenty hot and the weight of the iron was nice. The handle allows you to have a good grip. Fingers wrap around the handle easily and it feels right. The tip of the iron is well shaped for precision work. I was a bit apprehensive about the width of the sole plate in relation to the size of the tip. Tip extends well past the end of the iron on both ends and has a nice taper to it.The stainless sole plate glides so nicely. There is nothing on the bottom to catch on seams or bumps of fabric. Plate is absolutely flat. I have owned irons built so the ends of the plate area catch on things and pull your work into pleats. Not good.I have owned Rowenta's, Oliso, and a host of cheaper varieties. This iron is a keeper. I would buy it again!Don't hesitate to purchase this iron if you are looking for a good sewing iron. And Hey! Panasonic! Don't change this iron, but give us another great iron. Size this exact iron down for really technical sewing. There are so many of us who search for the perfect sewing irons. I would certainly purchase a small size of this iron if you had one. Same style tip of iron, narrower and shorter sole plate. Thanks for this one! Love it!!!

Best iron I've ever owned
I am a quilter. I learned to sew when I was 12 and I am now in my 70's. I have owned many irons in all price ranges. This iron is the best one I've ever owned. I let my quilting buddy use it and she bought one. I bought two for my quilt group. During Kraft Kamp one of the participants asked me to order one for him. We all agree that this iron is exactly what quilter's need.It took a few sessions for me to get used to returning the iron to the charging cradle instead of standing it on end like most other irons, but now I don't give it a second thought. I love the dual ironing tips and it heats up really fast. But what I like most is that I can refill the steam tank without removing the iron from the charging base. Easy-peasy and instant steam.I can hardly wait for this model to come out in travel size. Yes, they are testing it now and soon the smaller one will be in production.

Great for quilting.
It is a great item added to my wife’s quilting hobby. She has said many times she love it, with no cord and a football shape. You can slide a point in either direction as needed. She loves it.

Great if you want a cordless iron
This is my 4th Panasonic cordless iron. I have been satisfied with the overall quality of the irons. The good points are: heats up fairly quickly, the metal plate glide easily over the clothing, finally the reason I like cordless is I don’t have to keep moving the cord out of my way. The weak point appears to be the plastic water chamber eventually starts leaking. The previous irons lasted around 5 years so I think I got my money’s worth before I had to buy a new one

Game Changer!
This is the perfect iron for anyone that does quilting or other sewing projects. You can move from table to table to iron. It heats up quickly! You can easily fill the water chamber. I was worried the "charging station" would take up a lot of space on my table, but it is nicely compact. The only concern I have is that even in the "off" position, the handle is warm. I can unplug the base. I am very glad I purchased this for my sewing needs!

I'm 80. I've had lots of irons. This is the best I've ever used.
First use, I wasn't sure the iron was hot enough to do the job. I was thinking of returning but then I pulled out the iron and gave it another chance. Hit the steam button a couple of times to clear it out and started ironing and it worked like a dream. Lots of heat. Lots of steam. And it was easy to put it on the base instead of on the ironing board when I moved the duvet I was ironing. Today I ironed a handkerchief linen blouse with lots of pleats and a linen runner for my table. Plenty of steam for both jobs. Iron doesn't just glide, it skates. And I decided to write a review because I'm convinced it's the best iron I could have bought. Chose this model for two reasons. First the 30 minute auto shut off, instead of 10. Auto shut off always annoyed me. With this iron, it doesn't matter so much because of how fast this iron heats up - seconds, not minutes. I also like the shiny stainless steel soleplate instead of ceramic because just about everything I iron is natural fabric - and I think ceramic is better suited for manufactured fabrics and blends. Iron is lightweight and can be put away immediately, in its little case without waiting for it to cool down. So I can iron, put away the board and I'm done. I got lucky and got this iron used, in good condition. It came quickly and was in brand new shape, including instruction book. The only thing missing was the original box. Great price. Great iron. There's alot to like about my new Panasonic iron.

Broke in less than a year. DO NOT BUY.
Broke in less than a year. Doesn’t get HOT anymore. Gets warm and doesn’t hold the temp as long as 4 months ago. I also don’t like that the red light glows, saying it’s up to temp, but isn’t. As soon as I remove iron from base, and immediately replace back, the temp light is blinking saying it’s NOT up to temperature. I’m a quilter and have used MANY irons (corded/cordless)over the years. This one is not worth the money. Choose another brand, model.
