For context, I've owned these boots for a few months, and all of my hiking was done in the San Tan mountains of Arizona. The trails there are a mixture of hard-packed dirt, rocky sections, sand, and steep rocky inclines with loose sand and gravel (e.g. Goldmine Mountain). Grip: 5/5 At first, looking at the photos in the listing, I wasn't sure about the grip, but the boots have done well on rocky inclines as well as sections with loose sand and gravel. Ventilation/Cooling: Neutral. I hike in Arizona where temps are normally on the warmer side. I haven't really noticed a difference in this category in the different boots I have owned. No complaints. Durability: 4/5 Overall they are holding up well. I'm not concerned about stepping on jagged/spiked rocks as the boots seem to be fairly tough, and the sides and laces are solid. There is a small section where the sole is starting to separate as shown in the photo, which seems premature, but otherwise the boots have been solid. Weight: Neutral. The boots are light and durable at the same time. No complaints. They are waterproof, and I wear them while clearing snow, and they keep my feet warm and dry. They are easy to put on and lace up. But the laces, tight as I tie them, do not stay tied.
