The adaptor included is for the smaller style port ( same as a tire valve stem). Ford used that style. The larger port style that is permanently attached to the testers hose. Is generally found on GM & Chrysler **Q: Can this be used on diesel (ford f350 7.3) and if yes do I need any adapter?** A: I would think that since the 7.3L fuel bowl / filter housing, should only be running between 45-60 psi, this gauge would work. I know it says not to use on Diesel engines, but I think thats a blanket statement for liability and stupidity reasons. High pressure is very common on Diesel engines, but not all, not the 7.3L! Also, the 7.3 will run between 45-60 (closer to 55 when good) psi even when a load is introduced. You will get dips on start up, due to electrical drop from starter draw. You'll also experience a subtle dip when quickly accelerated, but usually returns close to original idle psi or a little below. Not much though. If you are going to buy special diesel fuel pressure gauges, and all you own is a 7.3L PS, you may be wasting your money. I wouldn't know though, I doesn't have my degree in Diesel Mechanics and SHOULD post about stuff me don't know.... Lighten up! People ask questions and answer to help each other. Martin gave you the best answer, as this is the missing link for measuring my fuel pressure, fuel bowl adapter! Tip: If the gauge reads less than factory norms, don't do it...If it reads way way way less, like 200 + psi less, DON'T DO IT! But other than that, you'll be good.
