Simples. **Q: Can this be used to replace the discontinued model Deta 1151?** A: We used it to replace an expired and discontinued fire angel model in a caravan ,as we didn’t want more holes drilled in the ceiling. I am sorry I don’t know if it was originally a Deta 1151 but all we had to do was use the original base and screw the new top on. The one at the top of the stairs started giving occasional false alarms. I put this down to occasionally getting steam from the adjacent bathroom. Not a problem after 8 years.I bought the replacements and was delighted to see that despite the design changing over time, the wall plate they fit to has remained the same.
