Great EV charger for using electric dryer power outlet
I leased our first electric vehicle in May 2021 -- a KIA Niro EV -- and purchased the Splitvolt charger to serve as a Level 2 charger until I decided whether to get a permanent EV charger installed in our garage. Our home was built for natural gas and electric dryer connections, and we are using gas, so the 30A NEMA 14-30 electrical receptacle was not in use. After doing quite a bit of research, I decided to purchase the Splitvolt 24A charger, and I have had absolutely no regrets. The unit is very well made, and I've never had any issues with it. After plugging in, the Niro EV starts charging within a few seconds. The car indicates the charging current is usually 5.3 kW or 5.4 kW (within 2%-80% state of charge), so the Splitvolt charger is delivering the full 24A. The Niro EV has a 64 kWh battery and takes about 10 hours to charge from 5% to 90% SOC.Our laundry room is next to the garage, so I also purchased a 30-ft heavy duty NEMA 14-30 M/F extension cord to run from the dryer outlet to the front of the garage. I then plug in the Splitvolt charger to that. I've only been charging once a week, so I just roll up the extension cord and put it in the laundry room after each charging session. I do have to leave the laundry room door ajar for the cord to get out to the garage, but I charge at night (which I would do anyway) so there isn't so much heat coming into the laundry room and house (we live in southern Louisiana).I thought for sure I would have purchased a wall charger by now due to the (expected) aggravation of my current charging solution, but it will cost $1,500 for an electrician to install a 50A outlet in the garage. On top of that, the wall charger will cost $700. My poor man's solution with the Splitvolt charger and extension cord (for less than $400 total) has been working very well, and it's not nearly as aggravating as I expected to unroll and roll up the heavy extension cord for each charging session. I will probably end up getting a wall charger, but I'm in no rush.

Lots of positives
The charger worked right out of the box and recharged my car perfectly. In addition, there were several positive "little things" that the company got right that I wanted to mention:1. There is a cover for the car end of the charger to protect it from dust when not charging a car.2. There is a small cut-out hole on the back of the charger so you can hang in on a nail or something, so tension isn't placed on the cord itself.3. The specs on Amazon's web site were very clear to help me order the right model. There are several different 240V outlets in use in the US. None are interchangeable, so it was very important to know I was ordering the right model. This charger added just under 14 miles of range on my car in an hour, whereas I was just adding around 4.5 when I was using a 115 volt circuit. I'm very pleased to say the least!

Perfect charger to work with SplitVolt splitter switch for use with dryer outlets
Since my EV did not come with a portable Level 2 charger, I bought this to work with the SplitVolt splitter switch I bought to use with my home's existing garage dryer outlet. For safety, I had an electrician change my old-style ungrounded 3 prong receptacle to a grounded 4 prong receptacle, and bought the switch and charger equipped with grounded 4 prong connections. The products work great together, and the 24 amps supplied via the dryer outlet are more than enough to charge my EV overnight. The two products together are an inexpensive and quick solution for charging your EV at home, especially if you have a dryer already in or near your home's garage.

Affordable and fast EV charger
This is a great Level 2 charger for people who just need fast EV charging. Works great with my Honda Clarity and looks clean mounted on the wall. The only issue is the cord length, which is just enough to get from the outlet to the car -- it'd be great if Splitvolt can offer different cord lengths. Still recommended.

Charges my 530e in 2.5 hours
Huge upgrade from the dealer supplied 120V adapter I was given. It previously took about 10+ hours to charge my bmw 530e from empty to full. Now that I have a 240V/30A line this adapter is perfect and maxes out the charge speed (actually only goes as fast as 16A/240V ~ 3800W, but that's due to the car limiter).Cord is heavy duty, very thick. I opted for the longer version so it was easier to lay flat on the floor while charging.

Works great with my Jeep 4xe
Needed to upgrade from the level 1 charger that came with my Jeep. I got the 24a version with NEMA 14-30 (26ft) because it matched my dryer outlet in specs. Then I got the matching SplitVolt 24a Nema 14-30 (2x) Splitter Switch, so I could plug in both appliances at the same time.I made sure everything was 24a rated so it would never trip my 30a dryer circuit. It dropped the charge time on my dryer from 13hrs down to 2.5 hrs.

Piece of junk
Last less than a year. Caused issues to my Tesla as well. Don’t order 3rd party parts for a Tesla. Just spend the money and get the Tesla chargers.Terrible customer service too. Went round and round with no resolution. Will have to trash.

Needed a 24 amp charger
I bought this and the Split Volt Splitter Switch so that I can use the dryer plug for 24 amp 240 volt EV charging. Works as it should. It adds about 22 miles for every hour it’s charging.

Works like a charm!
Got a new 2023 KIA Soul EV and was charging once with the provided L1 charger - took me 2 days to fill it it with speed of 1.4 kWph - the new one works like a charm, and charges with 6 kWph. The 64 kW battery filled up pretty quickly just overnight. I really do hope to make good use with this going forward. Thanks! After 9 momths of using still works perfectly well 😀 charges a bit slower, at 5.8 kWph but its colder outside.
