While the respond speed between the touchpad and the lock isn't instantaneous (about 2 seconds for it to unlock), it works great and I haven't gotten a hiccup thus far. There can't be any resistance or you will get an error. This means you can't have to push on the door when you latch it due to shifting of the home. If you do, this isn't going to work for you. **Q: Will it turn a deadbolt that is hard to turn?** A: Probably not. My lock is a little hard to turn. I could manually open it with the switchbot adaptor but it would jam doing it remotely. Had to return it. **Q: Can it be open with just key or will the system stop someone from opening it and will only open when system unlocks it?** A: System will not stop someone with a key opening the lock from the outside.
