They worked perfect for me. They have a strong hold better than crimping, an airtight seal, and if you use the proper size for the wire you're working with they shrink to a glove tight snug. I've had zero problems with connectivity on any of my projects. These are not regular heat shrink tubes. You can't use a lighter or a torch. A lighter won't melt the solder, and a torch will melt the tubing and your wire before it melts the solder. I used a heat gun I got off of Amazon for $20. It has two heat settings, and a reflector on it so the entire tube was heatedly evenly in seconds. Spend just a few extra seconds around the solder ring. Don't immediately try to pull on the connection. Of course it's going to come apart while it's still curing. These are made to withstand shaking and movement, not heavy weight pulling. No one is going to come and tug on your wires to pull them apart. All that aside, I absolutely recommend these shrink tubes to anyone who's doing at least minor automotive electrical wiring. I installed a dash cam, aftermarket radio, and rear view cam into my car using these and they have held up perfect.
