When you change the oil and filter on your car you won't get all of the old oil out unless you strip the engine down. So if there is still half a litre or more old oil left in the flush will contaminate the new oil breaking it down from the word go. Garages and dealerships like selling you these and will obviously tell you they are good because they want the sale. Beat way is to change the oil and filter and then do it again after a month of driving. Before doing it for a second time take it down the motorway and give it some welly so it will break up any sludge or excess carbon.
