Will the "just paint" would do or do I need the lacquer for it too?** A: I didn’t use any lacquer, and I used mine about 6 weeks ago and it’s Fine as it is. Hope this helps. **Q: Do you need to prepare the area first with wet and dry before applying the paint?** A: I used this as a touch up paint for some stone chips so I just made sure the chip was clean, dry and free from surface oxidation. That worked well and the difference was only visible on close inspection. Easy to apply and work with the brush provided attached to the lid. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use, does the job *by F***Y on 4 July 2026* To my utter annoyance I caught a sticking out metal gate fitting when my wheel was turned out reversing into a driveway. Scraped a shallow gauge into the alloy, about 1 mm deep and 8mm x 12mm across. While not really a proper fix, this repair paint filled in the gouge enough that it's not noticeable unless you're inspecting the rim and the colour match was accurate. The paint is quite thick and easy to apply with the included applicator brush.
