Review: Omg these things are so cold, it hurts to touch them! - I recently took my full size refrigerator out of my business, but still wanted to get my desertcart fresh groceries delivered at work, since my home isn't in the delivery range. That also means the food is already thawing for an hour before it gets delivered. So, I needed better cooler bags and reusable ice packs that could stay cold for 10 hours before getting the food delivered, and then hold up for another few hours before getting the food home (another 3-4 hours, so the ice stayed mostly frozen for almost 14 hours in these bags). I bought these ice packs after reviewing every product on desertcart, and I got the Titan insulated bags. I avoided ordering things like ice cream or frozen waffles, because I've noticed those don't arrive frozen by the time they deliver the groceries. I mainly ordered frozen meals, mini pizzas and refrigerated stuff. The food was still frozen when I got home! The only thing that thawed were some frozen french toast sticks (I took stuff like that out of their boxes because I figured it would help keep them cold better if they had direct contact to the ice). The refrigerated stuff was plenty cold still too. These ice packs get so cold that it almost burns your hand to touch them. They stay cold for a lot longer than my thin blue ice packs of various brands. They freeze in a nice thin shape, seem to have excellent build quality, and are a great size. I wanted more small ice packs rather than one large one so I could make sure all of the food had ice on almost all sides of it. They actually weigh quiet a bit, which is probably why they can stay frozen longer than the cheaper ice packs that I have. I was really hesitant at first to get these because of the cost, and having to fill them with water myself, but I am so happy that I did! They were easy to set up and do a great job. We actually have power outages pretty regularly and I feel more confident that my frozen food will stay frozen longer with these in the freezer. When you are squeezing the air out of the pouch, after adding water, you can see the material inside the pouch is a light blue color. After it sets for a few minutes it becomes gel inside. So far only the edges thaw out after 14 hours of use. And it does seem to help if they have a full 24 hours to re-freze after use (as opposed to 12).
Review: 2 Years Strong! I LOVE THESE!!! - This review is long overdue but it will show the products longevity. I bought a 4 pack Medium, 2 years ago and they are still going strong. I use them daily on my 12/hour shifts and they do a great job of keeping my drinks and food cold throughout. I have an insulated backpack I carry for my lunch bag. I typically only use 1 ice pack in the cooler months and 2 in the summer and that usually works great! I would buy these again, and will buy them again when my packs wear out....whenever that may be. Full transparency, one of them has cracked, but I still use it. I blame it on operator error though. If you freeze them flat, this should not be an issue. I have let them freeze on more than one occasion with the corners bent. When this happens, it can put a lot of stress on the corners when I shove them down the sides of my cooler and also when I drag items out of my bag. I can't fault the manufacturer for that. I've seen some reviews saying they aren't very durable. That has not been my experience at all. While the new one have changed the logo, I don't think they changed anything else. If they did, that would be a mistake. For the price, awesome cooling, and longevity I personally think they are worth EVERY PENNY! I recommend them to people and co-workers all of the time.

**Q: How long do these stay frozen for ?**
A: Mine have stayed frozen for approximately 9-10 hrs. I left food in the cooler,which was well-insulated, and it which was still cold when I got home. This was kept in office setting with temps in room in the 70’s.

**Q: When you say that this item is colder than ice, what does that mean? ice can be cooled to any temperature unless i'm mistaken. a rock can be 18*f.**
A: Karæthon's answer is correct.  Freezing or melting overcomes the  "latent heat of fusion" which is about the same heat as is required to raise the temperature of (for example) liquid water by almost 80°F, or frozen water (ice) by about 150°F.   So an ice pack in a cooler will spend most of its time at it's melting point. Once it's all melted, the subsequent temperature rise will be very quick.

**Q: Are these reusable?**
A: They are reusable.  There is an initial "just add water" setup to change the dry powder to gel, then you throw them in the freezer for several hours and they are ready for use.

**Q: If I were to use two of these together, would I have similar cooling capacity as one of the medium-sized packs?**
A: Not positive of that but I am amazed at how well these things work.  4 of them keeps a large cooler super cold.

I recently took my full size refrigerator out of my business, but still wanted to get my Amazon fresh groceries delivered at work, since my home isn't in the delivery range. That also means the food is already thawing for an hour before it gets delivered. I bought these ice packs after reviewing every product on Amazon, and I got the Titan insulated bags. These are the best ice packs I’ve had! They really do last 8+ hours in a cooler and keep drinks and food cold. I got the medium sized ones and it’s pretty darn perfect for the cooler I have. Maybe a little smaller would have been nice but not a big problem in my opinion. Great value for the money!
