Always fresh and flavorful. Review: Cinnamon doesn’t compare but it must be Dynasty - If I only owned two spices, they would be salt and Dynasty Chinese Five Spices. I especially like to use it on baked salmon. I’m so glad desertcart carries it because it is very difficult to find. I tried other brands of Chinese five spice powders… they don’t compare at all. The expiration date is often a problem yes. But I just received one early October 2025 and the best by date is 9/3/26. I’m OK with that. I did notice a couple of things. Looking at the ingredients I can’t imagine why it would say refrigerate after opening. But my last bottle had a cap that didn’t seem to want to stay closed. So ?? I tried asking Rufus. No luck. I also can’t understand how shaking it is going to mix the ingredients much if at all. I’ve been using this for years. I haven’t refrigerated it. I haven’t shaken it . I’m still standing & it’s delicious. If I had to substitute this, I would probably substitute it with Ceylon cinnamon. It was a real winner and I loved the spice combo. In fact, I like it so much that I'm finding other recipes just to use more of it. This brand seemed to be of good quality and fresh, as well as being reasonably priced. We live in the country and don't have any stores that would carry such things, so I was really glad to find it online.
