Review: Perfect for heat buildup/AV unit - I buy a fair amount of pretty good products from desertcart and am generally too lazy to be enthusiastic enough to leave a review. This however, was worth doing one for. I fitted this to my wall built media cabinet, which has existing fans but was suffering heat buildup around the Devon AV unit. This has completely fixed the issue - the AV unit runs cold now, even turned the main cabinet fans down. Zero vibration or noise. Great, simple solution. Highly recommended (also can run in tandem with the other AC products I already use: controller/thermostat, case fans)

Powered from a USB mains adapter so I could hide all the cabling behind my unit. The on/off switch is in the middle of both consoles for ease of access. Only visible in the picture because of camera flash, even tho their quite big their discrete and the noise is minimal. They are not silent, because the only thing you can hear when either console is on are these two running. Not noisy by any means but louder than the next gen.. Would recommend as they do their job 😊.

**Q: How quiet are these fans on High and will they run ok in a PC usb socket?**
A: They are very quiet.  They have three speed settings and are very quiet on all three.  Will definately run from a USB socket.  I have mine running in this manner no problems at all.

These clip on and capture all the dust that the fans suck in.  Saves you having to clean the blades so much and also if you are using them to cool a case then it stops the dust being pulled into the case.

**Q: I intend to use on my original xbox one.  which way is best to use these when placed on top of the console? to blow air in or to extract air away?**
A: I've not got an Xbox One, but on other devices (Sky Box and home cinema amp), they run noticeably cool when you extract the hot air away. I think not as much air will flow through trying to blow fresh air in, but it's easy to try both ways.

**Q: Can these fans be left running 24 hours a day**
A: Yes I believe so. They are frictionless and appear to generate no heat. You could link them to a thermostat and they activate when required if you are nervous at leaving on. I have similar fans in my hub rack that are on 24-7.

**Q: Would they function well in high humidity? Are they likely to rust?**
A: Not certain, electronics don't usually do well in high humidity. Having said that they are made of plastic and if your going to be using them to keep your amplifier cool there shouldn't be a problem. These are very good fans.

The fans work fine although you can definitely hear them. I had to remove one side of the grills on both as they were resonating with the fans and causing a sine wave sound which was annoying until I figured it out. They move a good amount of air and are keeping my AVR cool which is all I wanted them for.
