**Q: Can I cut the vertical shaft so it fits the current plumbing**
A: You could cut it, but there is a minimum amount that is needed. The Critical Line (-C-L-) on Vacuum Breaker must typically be a minimum of 6" (152mm) above the fixture. Consult Local Codes for details.

**Q: is this flushometer specifically designed for urinals?**
A: It worked for our urinal. I don't know if it was "specifically designed" for urinals. Maybe you could ask the manufacturer.

**Q: Any ideas as to why mine stopped working?  Wasn't used much, about a year old.**
A: Don't know, but mine stuck open (within 6 months) and had to be replaced as well.  Sounds like a problem with the valves.

**Q: Does this urinal drain from bottom or back?**
A: Amazon Customer, when used on a wall hung urinal it will drain from the back. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connections Team.
