Great tasting honey
The jar the honey comes in is dark plastic, so that no sunlight can affect the honey inside. I also like the fact that the bottle is sealed, as not a lot of honey's do that. The honey is thick, not runny but not so thick it’s tough to get out the pot. Spreads very well on crumpets (with no butter) and tastes fantastic. Very moreish. The smell is great, and leaves a nice aftertaste.

Tasty
High quality, tasty and consistent honey, with reasonable MGO rating for the cost. Went through this tub during a week with a sore throat and mixed into a lemon broth it worked well.

One of the nicest Manuka Honey I've tasted!
We all know how healthy Manuka Honey is supposed to be but, and maybe it's me, I always feel they have a bit of a medicinal flavour compared with normal raw honeys. This was actually a nice pleasant taste which surprised me, and I could actually eat this off the spoon and enjoy it without comparing it unfavourably to my normal honey. It's in a nice little jar, certified, and from New Zealand the home of Manuka. If you are like me and merely suffer the taste of the various Manukas I'm pretty sure you will be impressed with the palatability of this one. Very nice honey in my opinion.

Tasty and sweet set honey but low MGO (for "everyday" use
A sweet and tasty set honey, foil sealed in a dark plastic jar. It has a nice balanced sweetness and like most Manuka honey has a very slight bitter aftertaste to it. A high MGO level usually reflects a higher level of antibacterial properties. However, as it comes, 40 is pretty low. It's also multifloral (rather than preferred "monofloral") meaning that it isn't sourced solely from manuka plants. I felt this is reflected in the price which won't break the bank but just high enough to command a premium over regular set honey (£12 for 250g at time of review).Tasty and sweet for everyday use.

Sweet, thick amber honey
This manuka honey is 100% natural and I like the fact that it is packaged in a recyclable, sealed plastic jar. The seal was actually quite difficult to remove and I had to cut it off rather than pull it off. The honey is a nice rich amber colour, with an enticing aroma and it tastes flavoursome and sweet. The nice thick consistency is perfect for spreading on hot buttered toast.I did not really know anything about the MGO values of manuka honey, but my research revealed: .MGO stands for methylglyoxal.Methylglyoxal is a naturally-occuring compound found in raw honey, and is the main factor associated with its beneficial antibacterial and antioxidant properties. The MGO rating on a jar of manuka honey indicates its content; the higher the rating, the more methylglyoxal in that batch. So at 40+, this honey’s MGO rating is relatively low as I have seen scores of over 1000, but it also means that you can enjoy the taste and some of the health benefits of Methylglyoxal without breaking the bank.
