I've been a fan / buyer of Maglite products for over three decades now and, with the purchase of these last two flashlights, converted over from my older bulb based D-cell flashlights to the smaller C-cell models ( I bought a total of 5 C-cell flashlights). I did so not because they were no longer usable but rather for the smaller size of 3 C-cells versus 2 D-cells as well as brighter light due to modern LED technology. The Maglite brand has been reliable and worked every time I needed to use the flashlights in the past. I never babied them yet they ALWAYS worked when required. Maglite earned my loyalty and I plan to use these new ones as long as I can ( I am now 71 years old so... )

I have bought Maglite flashlights both for myself and as gifts since the mid 80s, I have NEVER encountered any issues other than the bulbs burning out thru long usage with the earlier models. The new models such as this 3 C-cell model have a very bright beam and feel comfortable in the hand. Highly recommended for those of you who want a long lasting flashlight.
