I had thought and it was previously done.....by jacking up door while unbolting those huge bolts that hold the entire door on. THIS is the way to fix this !!!! 1983 450,000 mile 240 Diesel Euro import manual stick. Review: Cannot close the door at all. NOT rubber. - Poor quality so each was slightly different. Description said they were rubber (like original). They are hard plastic. Tried multiple ones. None would allow the door to even close much less latch. I ended up buying the whole striker and moving just the latch portion of the new striker to the original striker. That worked although now I have to use slightly more force than ideal to get the door to fully latch.
