A Fun and Engaging Book for 5th Graders
I just finished The Fifth Grade Reader, and it’s a fantastic collection for any 5th grader! The mix of fiction and non-fiction stories is perfect for keeping kids engaged while also improving their reading comprehension. I especially liked how each story is broken into chapters, making it easier for kids to transition into longer chapter books. The vocabulary is spot on, challenging but not overwhelming, and the comprehension questions at the end of each story are a great way to spark meaningful discussions. Great book indeed!

This is a great book and has great short stories in it that are easy for kids with smaller attention spans and kids struggling to read huge chapter books. The stories are fun and keep my son interested.

Did the trick!
My child resisted reading aloud and opted to ditch reading in lieu of other activities in her free time. I bought this book based upon the excellent customer reviews, and I’m so grateful I did, because now she looks forward to reading it to me every day. She’s stated repeatedly how much she enjoys the stories and is sad to finish.
