The magic is all fun, and I swiped some for my own act. The DVD shows how to do everything (except acting)that is in the promo, and you receive almost everything. The DVD alone could sell to magicians for $20-$30. I have seen a lot of magic kits, and this one has the best bang for your buck that I have seen. The few things you don't get in the kit are very common household items - shoes, towel, wooden spoon. To get full use of this kit, I believe the child should be at least 8 (although 18 y/os will like it too!). Younger than 8, it can still be fun, but it they will need help. Some assembly is required, and I recommend a parent do it, but it is not hard. I purchased this here on desertcart, and while not the cheapest, it got here very quickly. Review: Fun but overpriced. - My 8 year old son wanted this very badly last year, but it was hard to find. I saw it on desertcart this year and got it for him for his birthday. There are some good illusions in it. The fake arm is the best. But for the merchandise/props that were included, I think it was overpriced. The box that comes with it is kind of flimsy and falls apart a lot. I bought this for my son because he wanted to be an illusionist for Halloween. He was beyond thrilled! The freaky hand gave everyone the creeps and a good laugh. My son feels like he's the next David Blaine. People are just amazed at how realistic the illusion is! Plus, the dvd and other components are just a bonus. They're professional tricks, but easy for my son to quickly master. We recently had a "Colt's Game Party" at our house and he was the halftime entertainment.
