In my case I simply could not pry them off and had to resort to a metal grinding wheel to break the old pound-on caps off. Maybe you want to try removing the wheels from your unit before buying this, otherwise you might get frustrated (in which case you can just buy replacement wheels and pound-on end caps). Anyhow this unit will have your traveling sprinkler running like new. It does come with a new set of pound-on end caps to hold the wheels in place.
