**Q: Can i rig it to work for my stern-drive Volvo penta?**
A: With a Stern drive you can just lock the outboard motor straight and then use the helm as a rudder... no need to connect...one issue you might have is the power steering will not work without the main engine running

**Q: what is the thread count ?**
A: Not sure on the count, but i can tell you it is fine threaded

**Q: how is this item attached**
A: It has ball studs that bolt to both motors. The rod has quick release fittings that snap onto the balls of the studs.

**Q: I need to know if this will hold up to salt water, this is a must for me, I only use in the ocean.  If there is another recommended let me know**
A: This is not stainless steel, expect 1-2 years in saltwater to be safe. If you coat it after it is fit ( enamel/ Marine paint) it will last much longer.
