But my 2015 Volt only seems to be charging at 13.5 amps. Why?** A: The reason is your Volt is the charger and that’s the highest amps at which it will charge. The amps is limited by the charger built into the car. So while this cable is capable of drawing more amps, the 2015 Chevy Volt will only draw 13.5 plus or minus. Looks like your limited to 8 or 12 (13.5) amps. The 2019s are upgraded with a charger that utilize the 32amps. **Q: Is this charger as good as the factory charger for a 2019 Nissan Leaf Plus SL with the 62kw battery?** A: This is a level 2 charger, and like all such chargers, it is designed to be used with a 240 volt circuit. Note the NEMA 1450 plug. You will need an outlet similar to a dryer outlet to make this work. Most likely you will need an electrician to set up the wiring for you. Because it uses 240v, it charges several times faster than the one which comes standard with all Leafs. **Q: What is a normal charging temperature? I returned it and thought I was done, but the seller reached out and offered a replacement. The new replacement has been working great - I do like that it's solid (the cables feel very high quality and are very solid) and that it's portable. I added a hanging bar/socket to the wall and picked up a 6-50 to 14-50 outlet adapter (so I can plug into either a RV output or a more traditional EV charger outlet when on the road).I get the full 32amps my 2019 Bolt can handle. New charger has been in use for about 20 hours of active charging now with no issues at all.I am impressed with the unit and with the seller for proactively reaching out and making things right!! You can't help the occasional DOA unit (it happens), but how the seller handles those rare cases is the mark of a professional and solid seller. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice L2 EV charger *by D***C on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2018* This charger is working great and has an awesome display with more information than my other L2 charger. The long cord and weather rating helps out a lot. I just plugged this into our 50 amp RV socket, which also means it can easily be taken on the road. I obviously have the "upgraded" version because the temperature is Fahrenheit (see photo) and the cable is long (but I haven't measured it). Update: I live in Arizona and this is used outside my garage. When it gets direct sunlight it overheats and stops charging. But stayed at my cabin for 7 months using this cable daily/weekly.. Started out wonderful and then one day it doesn't want to charge continuously and turns on and off or sometimes just not charging at all. Product looks fine but isn't working any more.
