However, it is real wood all the way around, although soft wood, it’s still real wood. My wife decided to follow the viral trend of making this our device charge box because the cords on the counter didn’t “look good”. I performed some cosmetic surgery to the side to allow access to the kitchen counter outlet for our devices charge cords. Overall, this looks great and serves its purpose. The poor reviews are based on people’s expectations of this being a $350-$500 high quality bread box which it isn’t and which is why it is cheap. Also, the bottom will fit a surface pro.

Unable to nail it with small nails or glue it or anything. For $40 for a bread box…such a joke. Returned. Don’t even want another.

Nice little breadbox and easy to put together. It's what you'd expect for the price, pretty thin pine. That being said it went together nicely and it fits a couple loaves of bread with the second layer for homemade scones etc. I'm debating turning it into a charging station instead LOL
