It has been an absolute hit in our backyard with his friends. Right out of the package, the first thing I notice is the weight. The bat is light enough for a five-year-old to swing freely. This is huge for building confidence. The ball has a raised seam, which helps teach how to hold the ball during bowling or throwing. We used it on the driveway and the backyard grass. The base with wickets is a bit unstable and keeps falling over in the wind. I have spare spikes and anchored it to the ground in the yard.Apart from that overall, this is an excellent starter cricket kit.
