Review: The personality of the restaurant is captured in this book - One of the most delightful cook books I know telling the story of how this unpromising pub in it's remote location became one of the most popular restaurants in the country thanks to the owners' dedication to local produce and building a loyal and happy team, also chiefly of locals. Beautiful photographs of the area and, need I say, the (fairly) simple but brilliantly inventive recipes based on the most important ingredient of all fine cooking: the best (local) produce treated with respect. One of the most delightful cook books I know telling the story of how this unpromising pub in it's remote location became one of the most popular restaurants in the country thanks to the owners' dedication to local produce and building a loyal and happy team, also chiefly of locals. Beautiful photographs of the area and, need I say, the (fairly) simple but brilliantly inventive recipes based on the most important ingredient of all fine cooking: the best (local) produce treated with respect.
