The apple remote is the exact same product, and you would never know it wasn't the original that came with my apple tv. The remote came in perfect condition; there were no scratches or flaws on it, and it functioned as normal. I'm now on my second year using it and have had no issues with it whatsoever. I still purchased a silicone cover for my apple remote to better protect it from scratches and fingerprints.
