I have bought a couple of these retro gaming handhelds before and been very disappointed, usually with the rubbish games they are bundled with and the poor performance of the hardware.This unit couldn't be more different.After a little research, the best advice I read was to replace the stock SD card with a better one (they are usually bundled with cheap cards that fail). I also went to Anbemics website and downloaded the most recent firrmware. I am a complete novice, but there are loads of good guides on how to do this. It seems a bit faffy, but once you have done it once, its very easy.This improved the device massively.So, the next thing was to get used to the in game OS menu which enables you to alter everything in case of problems, so its worth watching a quick tutorial on YouTube.Next, the games selection is outstanding. I have been playing God Of War, Quake, Ridge Racer, FIFA. Think PSP but at a fraction of the cost. These games have all run flawlessly.The battery life is very good. I have been playing all day and its on about 50% left.I am so happy I bought this unit. At this price, with the selection of games, it's a no brainer.

Ordered one of these because the product looked and sounded good in the description. It was an impulse buy. Took it out of the box and my excitement lasted less than a minute as like many others users had experienced, the screen did not boot past the Abernic logo. It's a lesson to me as I should have read the reviews to know that the booting issue with the screen is very common. Not good.

When the device came it did not work out of the box. It would get stuck on the boot splash screen. After doing some research on Reddit I guessed it was a faulty memory card. So I got a new memory card. Went to Anbernic website. Downloaded new software (image file) which had the flashing software included. Extracted the image from RAR file then flashed to new memory card. And that was it. It is a great little device. Prefect for my travels for long haul flight and over night train journeys. And I have an extensive game collection already. That I can add to what is in the image already. Great retro selection. So other than the teething problems with a rubbish memory card. I really love the device

Excitement a receiving the RG36xx H lasted about 1 minute. Started up fine then within a minute screen stopped working... Just strips of light on display... Still making sounds when navigating using buttons so appeared to be a screen issue. A quick google search on the issue showed this is a common and frequent issue with this device... Something to do with the screen cable detaching from the mother board frequently and easily. I returned it for refund. Very disappointed that this device is sold with such an apparently common build quality issue. I will not buy again for fear that the same happens outside of Amazons refund period. I would recommend avoiding this device. :(

Like many people who bought this device it hung on boot. And the solution was the same as their's. Download the latest firmware from the Anbernic site and flash it to the quality SD card you bought at the same time as this. If you search for "Anbernic RG35XX firmware update" on YouTube you will find some useful guides. Once done and the new card inserted in the powered off device. to replace the cheap and dodgy one in the first slot from the left it should work perfectly from when you turn it on.

Device is amazing,build quality as usual is top tier for anbernic,but the loaded sd card failed instantaneous on power up,spent a full day and a new memory card installing firmware and adding games at my expense,its not the first time either,all my other anbernic devices always fail because of the low quality generic sd cards that they come with,please if you buy,make sure you have a good quality sd card to swap out,other than that it's flawless and super impressed with it

Screen protector was already applied - poorly at that, at an angle and lined with air bubbles.Stock SD card had already given up and console refused to launched beyond the Anbernic logo.Deeply disgusting practices for what is effectively an £100 item.
