I recently bought my second one of these small salt cellars. Maybe as an XY chromosome individual, I may be strongly attracted to a superbly machined hefty object/tool; but it’s the utility that made me buy a second piece for pepper.When I cook, I usually end up in a frenetic pace. No Martha Stewart cool here. So when I’m thrashing about for my spices, it’s comforting to have at least 2 of the basics ready to go. No lid to unscrew, no shaker screen to remove, and no fumbling for a measuring spoon. The component spoon provided is precisely calibrated for a 1/4 tsp, so your spices are immediately accessible and equipped for measured dispensing. What’s not to love? ;^)

Like someone else, we too saw this in a restaurant in Denver and were fascinated by it. Decided to get one for ourselves and another as a gift. Love the weight, design, and functionality of the piece.

I would have given it 5 stars because I loved it, it felt sturdy was the perfect size and being really health conscious the fact that it was stainless steel was ideal. However this salt cellar could not have been stainless as advertised but instead made of some metal coated in maybe a thin layer of stainless or not! That is the only explanation for why after several months, the bottom of the salt cellar got black patches that could not be cleaned by any method including SOS and even scraping. It appears the metal was actually pitted and the salt somehow removed the top layer of whatever the material was to reveal the dark metal underneath. I use stainless all the time and this would not happen with true Stainless Steel. Very disappointed!!!!!!!

While in Denver, we had dinner at a restaurant that had these beautifully designed objects on the table. They looked like sculpture. We were delighted to discover they were salt cellars. The quality is great. Heavy precise tooling and it all fits together like fine jewelry. When we got back to the hotel I searched images until I found them. We are delighted to add them to our collection. Buy them they are beautiful pieces of art that you can use every day.

While this item is gorgeous, it is considerably smaller than anticipated. When using it, I've had to refill it too often (I cook a lot).
