Excellent shampoo for skin conditions in cats and dogs. Recommended by our local vet.
My son has an eighteen month old Leonberger who had started scratching quite a lot and it was obvious that something was irritating her skin. A Leonberger is a giant breed with an extremely thick dense coat, we tried to see what was irritating her so much to no avail...so a trip to the vet was called for.Our local vet had a good look and decided that she had something like a dermatitis skin rash and he recommended this particular shampoo. Our vet was selling this shampoo at £22.50 and suggested that we purchase it from Amazon where it was about £4 cheaper. This Douxo Pyo shampoo is an anti fungal and anti bacterial shampoo and it comes in a 200ml plastic bottle. It contains Contains chlorhexidine (2%) Climbazole (0.5%) and Phytosphingosine all of which has some part to play in calming and curing various fungal and bacterial skin rashes.Directions ...This shampoo is to be applied generously onto wet fur and then massaged into the fur to create a good lather. Allow the shampoo to remain on your pet's coat for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Our vet recommended that we did this once a week for a month and see how we get on.Even after the first shampoo my son's dog did not seem to be scratching anywhere near as much and at the end of the fourth week she seemed to have no irritation at all ... another trip to the vets confirmed that her rash was completely gone and he recommended that my son continued using this shampoo once a month continuing forward.A couple of months has now passed and following the regime above has proved to be successful and my son's Leonberger's skin condition has never come back.Recommended.

Marvellous, cleared my dogs pyoderma.
My dog had pimples and pustules on the inside of his leg.Vet gave him steroids that made him ill, so he came off them.I did a bit of research and found it was pyoderma and chlorohexidine Shampoo/ lotion was a good option. It is to be used 3 times a week. I also bought the Douxo pads to use in between times. The spots and pustules have improved so much after week one, nearly gone. ( advised to carry on using for another 4 weeks)The shampoo and pads are a delight to use.The shampoo has to be left on 10 mins before rinsing off.I do it outside and put an elizabethan collar on my dog until it is rinsed off and dry.He is not bothering licking it anymore, fantastic.

Resolved my dog’s seborrhoea in a week!
My cocker spaniel was struggling with itching and what appeared to be flakey dandruff - after some reading it seemed like it was seborrhoea so I bought this product to see if it would help. The shampoo has little to no smell (just smells like ‘shampoo’) and it’s a milky white colourAfter the first wash with it the ‘dandruff’ was a little better (but still there), the itching was much less and his coat felt really soft. After the second wash (3 days later) the dandruff was almost totally gone (only visible if you gave him a lot of back scratches) and there was no itching. Then after the third wash (2 days after that) the dandruff was totally gone! It has been 4 weeks since we first started using the shampoo and now wash him with it once a week and the dandruff and itching haven’t returned. And his coat is incredibly smooth and silky. Would highly recommend this to anyone who thinks their dog might have seborrhoea

How little you get for a big price?
It’s a good product! But expensive in small quantities.

Great for cats with itchy skin!
I ordered this a few weeks ago for my cat who suffers with very itchy skin and is constantly grooming herself to the point where she had lost a lot of hair across her body. After many trips to the vets and trying lots of other remedies that haven't worked I must admit that I didn't have the highest expectations for this product... BUT I have been pleasantly surprised! I have been bathing my cat twice a week and have noticed a considerable difference in her. She seems less itchy, isn't overgrooming as much AND we have hair growth again! The shampoo lathers up nicely and smells fresh. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

Not good
After months of use I can say it's not good for my dog. I found a better shampoo.

Great stuff!
This stuff is great! I’ve lost count of the number of shampoos I’ve bought to try and combat my dogs itchy smelly skin. Even tried get prescribed ones! Nothing really worked. This stuff however is amazing! It’s gotten rid of the dandruff, the itches and the unpleasant doggy/cheese like smell.

Thank God I found this shampoo!
I was doubtful whether this shampoo would resolve the issue of my dog smelling like cheesy feet but after just one wash the smell has gone. I suspect she has a yeast infection on her feet which is spreading so I'll wash her 3 times a week for a month and then use this in place of her normal shampoo twice a month. She has also been really itchy the last few weeks and she's stopped dragging herself across the carpet after one was too. It's cheaper than going to the vet so for me the price is worth every penny.
