Philips Series 9000 Prestige Wet & Dry Electric Shaver with Qi Charging Pad, Smartclick Beard Styler and Facial Cleansing Brush - SP9863 (S9000 Prestige + Cleansing Brush + Charging Pad)

After purchasing the latest top of the line Norelco razor and being severely disappointed, I went looking for this model, as it had the previous head design, was a smaller form factor, more ergonomic, and lighter than the new 9000 series. This razor reminds me why I was loyal to Norelco for decades, and I hope by the time it needs replacing, Norelco will have returned to this size, quality, and functionality. This is a great razor, and even though it is now commanding an absurd premium, it’s the only way to go if you want to stick with Norelco.

Over the years i have had many electric shavers, usually the expensive ones ($2-300.00), only to use for a few weeks then switch back to the precision of a blade. I'll use my blade for a couple years then get a wild hair and buy a fancy electric shaver. Then switch back and so on and so on...Well recently i saw this electric razor at BestBuy, with the wireless charging pad, it caught my attention in that it was wet / dry and could charge wirelessly, no dumb cord needed, i have enough in my bathroom sink area as it is (thanks Alexa).I have been using it about 3 weeks now and can honestly say, without a doubt, bar NONE, this is the best electric shaver i have ever used, it gives me a extremely close shave, dry with no lotion or anything, only time i use a razor is just to get my sideburns clean, that little area which is hard to get with any electric razor. Im extremely impressed with this particular electric shaver. I would easily toss this in my bag and take on a trip with me, i'm pretty sure you can unplug the wireless charging pad and use that power cable as a direct cable into the electric razor.Cleaning it is a breeze, it just pops open, rinse it with water, let it dry and your back in business. If you can afford this, and your picky about a VERY close shave i would highly recommend this electric razor. I'm not small guy either, i have a pretty rough stubble on my face and this thing just performs 5 stars.Ok, now i'm late to work writing a dumb review! Hope this helps!

I've been using Norelco shavers for over 25 years, and this is the best shave I've ever experienced. The shave is as close as I generally get from a blade without much effort.Cleanup is easy under running water, and the battery charge easily lasts for 10 or more shaves without recharging. It is true that you must charge it on the included wireless charge pad, but that completes in 3 hours or less. I use the charging pad for my iPhone at night -- it works well, albeit a bit slowly, but fine overnight.The case with charger and shaver is somewhat large for traveling, but unless I'm going to be gone more than a week, I would only take the razor. You can set it so that it won't be accidentally turned on in your luggage.All in all, I'm very happy with it.

Not the product advertised. Product was out of stock, so an alternative without the face brush with a cleaning bath was offered as a substitute. I was not so happy about that. I just accepted the substitute because I needed a good travel shaver.

It can ONLY be charged via the wireless pad, so you have to carry that big case everywhere if you travel, for the price I think I should be able to charge directly by a cable too. junk

i purchased this shaver in late March 2023. I cannot get a close shave with this $300 shaver. I am very upset with this purchase.I have had many Norelco shavers in the past. The only complaint that I ever had was when I purchased cheap Chinese replacement heads.I have cleaned the heck out of the heads, adjusted speeds, and charged the battery. It still leaves stu7bble all over my face.I suppose I could order new heads for a razor that is four months old.I would definitely not recommend this razor to anyone.
