Great light for small enclosure
I like that this item suited my needs affordably-- I also did have to contact customer service and got excellent response from them.I'd contacted customer service because I could not for the life of me get the cover off. I, like many, had my fixture arrive with the light fluttering. I was able to remove the two screws as directed by customer service and give the bulb a little twist which corrected the flicker (it had been jarred in transit)I did worry about the plastic lens covering a UVB bulb, but my needs for the enclosure for this particular bulb we're great. I didn't want to spend a hundred dollars on a fixture for a scale-less/translucent lizard who needed UVB but in much smaller quantities than a lizard with scaled and normal skin. If you have need for smaller amounts of UVB or are using in a shallow tank application (I'd say 12 inches or less height from bulb) this is a good light fixture. If you are trying to put this on a 40 gallon breeder it isn't going to suite your reptile's needs, get a bigger bulb/fixture.This bulb gets slightly warm but does not provide heat, you will need a separate heat source. It really does come down to you get what you pay for, this is a small UVB light designed for a small enclosure. This is not intended for a large/deep enclosure for a very UVB dependent pet. If you need higher requirements none of these tube type applications will likely suit your needs, you'd be better off spending more and investing in MVB etc.For those with tiny tanks (20 gallon long or smaller) this really should suit your needs well for MOST UVB needy pets, and you can always use a UVB meter to ensure you are getting enough. Hope this info helps :D

Perfect!
This is the perfect light for my bearded dragon. Said it right on top of the tank and it definitely does the job. It’s a great quality brand and is as bright as it needs to be. It’s also a great size and it performs as described.

Nice compact size, light weight, decent price, OK quality
Good overall product, reasonable price, compact size, light weight - which allows for flexibility in mounting options. Didn’t rate as five star as longevity isn’t great. I’m on my third unit, and each time the unit has failed before even a single bulb change.I did want to post one persons experience in response to some of the others talking about lack of UVB, noting this is experience only, NOT science based. I have a beardie, aquired sa baby exactly two years ago. My beardie is in good health and good spirits. My beardie doesn’t bask and doesn’t use hides. The terrarium has one corner unlit/unheated, one corner unlit but with a ceramic heat unit, one corner lit with a heat lamp, and one corner unheated, but lit with this UVB unit. My beadie spends all of its time on the end with the cermic heat and UVB light units. That end also has a ‘felt carpet’ like terrarium liner. A few weeks back it burrowed under the liner. It had occosionally done that before for a day at a time, but this time was different, longer, more lethatgic. I concluded it was in brumation. Then the next day my prior UVB unit (same model) stopped working. I got this replacement unit, installed it, and my beardie came out immediately. While it moves around as it habitually does, it has spent all of its resting time since install in the UVB corner of the tank. Again, not science based, but behavior deffinately suggests it is seeking out proximaty to this unit.

Happy Dragon
I thought the bulb went out in the fixture I had for my bearded dragon. Admittedly the fixture was older and I probably should have replaced it already but, well you know reptiles aren't cheap to keep and I just went ahead and got a new bulb. 3 days later it was out again so it was obvious I needed a new fixture ASAP. Good value for a 2 in 1. Arrived on time. I have a dual UVB/heat combo in a dome light for him also so he wasn't completely without the needed UVB just not at the recommended level for his size and enclosure. I could tell he was happy to get his new light. He crawled right up his hammock to soak in all the rays. So far a couple months later all is working well and no more burnt out bulbs. Still have a happy, healthy dragon.

Let There Be Light
I'm not the person that got out a meter and measured lumens, wavelengths and stuff. I put them in the thing, turn them on. Few years on, the lizard is still alive, so they must work.My gripe is how Amazon's packers loosely drop these things in boxes with literal bricks, but forget any cushioning. Then I have to chat with Amazon CS 3 separate times, repeatedly asking them to not charge me cause I can't return smashed lightbulbs, but still getting charged until someone figures it out. Seriously. True story.

puts out right light, doesn't last long
Time will tell but the bulb didn't last 4 months. And the clear cover over the bulb has already broken.
