I love these planters. I now have 10 of these in different sizes and they have weathered at least 2 nasty NYS winters so far and they still look brand new. They are easy to clean with the hose and do not appear to have lost their color at all despite being in full sun. I have used them for annuals as well as cedars and dwarf fruit trees and lilacs and they work very well. The water well is a great idea but do remember to pierce a hole as instructed for draining or the plant could get water logged. And, make sure you drain it before Winter or the water will freeze the plant (yes, I did that with one of my cedars).

We have bought several of these planters. We have followed the directions to drill a hole on top to fill the water reservoir. Once the plants are established, we have been able to go away with full reservoirs and have enough water via the roots to keep our plants healthy during our absence. Our first 8 Mayne planters were purchased almost 10 years ago and still look and work great and we left them outside all year long. That was in WA state. I am looking forward to using them here is WY with a different climate.Our planter was missing the plug - so customer service is sending us one. The customer service was wonderful.

This planter has been a very good investment. It's a little pricey but I have found it to be worth it. I planted annuals in it 2 months ago and they are flourishing. I didn't think a self watering planter would make much of a difference but it does. The style of this planter is sleek and modern and that's why I chose it - it goes so nicely with the style of my home. The quality is impressive - it's durable and well made. I will definitely buy this brand again. For anyone wondering what to put in the bottom of the planter to take up all the extra space - I used styrofoam and it worked perfectly.

Wonderful planters!Easy to move around on my own before filling. Size is great, holds enough water that I only have to water every other day.I think the drain holes have clogged, no longer see overflow come out. Will probably add some gravel and screen to that area if I dump the dirt next summer.

The planter is beautiful and works as promised. The main issue is that you have to drill the fill hole yourself and they recommend a 3/4" hole, which is way bigger than any drill bit I already owned. I had to drill a couple smaller holes and file it to the right size. I wish the hole were a bit bigger to make filling easier, but then it wouldn't fit the included plug. Also, I wish the plug were the same color as the box (plug is black, which stands out on the white box). Other than that, it's a fantastic planter. It's keep the soul nice and moist without being too wet or soggy.
