Bought for my 6 year old son that just started playing in a league. I first thought a ball was just a ball. The first ball I got was the Wilson Street Shot. That ball was composite leather too but much harder and less grip. That other ball also was standard weight. My son had a hard time making baskets.This Spalding Roookie Gear ball (brown) is just perfect. Not only is is clearly lighter but it feels better, more grip, softer more leather like feel, and it bounces higher with less effort. Seemed like a decent quality ball- perhaps a bit over priced. My big complaint was that it said the ball would come inflated. Well, it came inflated but not enough to bounce! It was very disappointing as it was gift so I had to rush to a sporting goods store to get it inflated. That’s where I realized I could have spent $14 instead of $20. Lesson learned.

Young granddaughter has taken a liking to playing basketball. We purchased the one we did as to keep hers separate from the boys. No hassle’s necessary.Reasonable priced and quality great, I feel this will entertain them for hours.

This is a quality basketball by a quality sporting goods manufacturer.We bought this for our Grandson for Christmas and he uses it in a regular basis and is very happy with it.We like Spalding very much and will continue to use their products.
