pontec PondoMax Eco 8000 Pond Pump

I bought this pump for continuous use all year round to work my filter, been running for 3 weeks now it seems very efficient and well made. I did ask questions about it from other buyers for use in winter all replies came back positive so fingers crossed I should not have any issues this winter.Des.

Excellent product does the job, unfortunately the description didn't say NO PLUG, it would be good to know this information when buying so that at least a recommended plug could be purchased at the same time. Bought to replace same product that kept shorting out the fuse box, once plug fitted, installed switched on and the waterfall is working as before. Would recommend but be aware NO PLUG!

Bought this to replace a Fishmate pump that the rotor disintegrated when the rear bearing collapsed. Was looking for low cost, high output with low power consumption and this fitted the bill. It doesn't have a tee for a water feature but that was easily sorted used a 22 mm to 15mm copper reducing tee. I use a uv clarified so the reduction in bore is not an issue. The pump produces enough water to run 300 mm wide waterfall and water feature. The pump is VERY quiet, I can't hear it above the waterfall, it's situated in the filter which is gravity fed. So long as it lasts it will have been a great buy. My last pump was very noisy and caused a lot of vibration that couldn't be cured.

Great pump, but NO plug lol, so pop one in your basket! It's a budget aquamax by oase by another name, I'm hoping it lasts the course! Amazon make it CLEAR NO PLUG!!!!

This is a FANTASTIC pump at a FANTASTIC price!! I've had it in my pond almost a year now and haven't had to clean it out yet (although I am going to do for the coming season) .It is better than the pump it replaced that cost £250 a good few years ago.I have it for a waterfall and it really doesproduce a very fast and wide flow of water.If I could give it 10 stars,I would do,it's quite simply the best pond pump I've ever had! (and I've had "Blagden" and "Lotus" pumps before).

Not having a fitted plug although a UK safety feature made it difficult to use until an electrician could be accessed to install the unit - despite the availability of an indoor RCD socket.Direct replacement for previous unit so works very well.

To be honest, I've not measured the flow rate, or the power consumption, but based on the calculations I did before purchase I'd say the flow rate is about right.I've got it dry mounted after a gravity fed multi Bay filter, pumping through a uv light and a cartridge filter before returning to the pond, split between a waterfall and underwater return.The pump is completely silent in operation and so far has given me no problems.
