My results were very good
I used this to recondition two pairs of rain pants that my daughter and I use for fishing. These pants see some tough use. They get covered with fish slime, and see significant wear from boat seats and general misuse. One pair is Eddie Bauer, the other is Wilson. Both outer coverings seem to be a fine thread count nylon-ish material. My daughter's in particular had areas in which water would "wet" the fabric very quickly. I note that both pairs tended to hold water in areas where there was soil accumulation on the fabric.I think the key to this product working well is that the garment needs to be cleaned well prior to application. AND dried in a tumble dryer after application.I washed the garments first 2x using Nikwax Tech Wash. By hand, doing a thorough wash and rinse. Never... ever... wring. Don't use regular liquid laundry detergent. I think you can use a mild powder detergent, but I'm not a wealthy guy and I wanted to be cautious with expensive rain gear, so I used Nikwax. After washing I put in the dryer on low to dry it 90% of the way, and then air dried. Once dry, I sprayed on a very liberal amount of the waterproofing. Wear gloves. Rub it into the surface, pay extra attention to seams. I did this outside, in an area in which the drippings would not stain concrete.I do mean "soak" the garments. I had small pools of whitish liquid on the surface. I let that sit for 5 minutes, allowing them a good soak and tossed them into the dryer. I tumble dried on low for about 20 minutes, then put them on hangers to breathe. The water shedding on the exterior of these pants is as it was when new. No signs of white stains, both pants are dark colored. We have a week long excursion coming up; it will be good to see how well this holds up. So far, I am impressed.

Trusted Brand that Works!
Overall, I have been very pleased with the Nikwax Softshell Waterproofing Treatment. Based on my experience treating several outerwear items (rain jackets, outerwear layers, etc.), the product does help to uphold the water resistance & repellency. Please note that the repellency will diminish over time and use, but this is to be totally expected. It is very easy to apply, just follow the instructions and you are good to go!

Good but needed to reapply
Works well, but my jacket needed a new application after a few uses (skiing).

Great Product!
I use this to waterproof rain sheets for my horse after I bring them home and wash them. It works really, really well even after the horse has rolled in the mud! Honestly, honestly, my horse got in touch with with his inner hippo this winter and really wallowed in it. But he was clean and dry underneath his rain sheet. I wish I had gotten a photo for this review. It was most impressive.

Works so well!
I purchased a puffer coat that was water resistant but I knew I was going somewhere rainy and didn’t want to carry so many items- so I decided to try this spray on my coat. It worked so well! My niece didn’t spray her coat and the rain eventually seeped into hers. I was happy and dry. I didn’t know how my coat would do in the dryer, so while I followed all of the direction, I did just leave it in the sun to dry after spraying. I will definitely use this in the future. Non-toxic for the win!

Water resistant - not foolproof...
I had high hopes for this spray - especially as a 2nd treatment to rejuvenate a soft-shell Marmot rain jacket that still looks smart. Applied to dry garment after first soaking/washing in the recommended wash solution overnight. Considered this application to be another coat of water-proofing to the initial wash. Sprayed garment liberally and hanged to dry. Post treatment performance was not 100% however - rain still soaked fabric in a couple of areas - tops of shoulders and arms for instance (well before application could have been rubbed off or deprecated by time). So I'm back to wearing my stylish Marmot in the rain and getting damp underneath - nice try though. It extends the tolerable life of the jacket with some added water resistance, don't expect water-proof.

Works pretty well
Used it this on my softshell snow pants to add some waterproofing. Wore them snowboarding and it definitely worked! But, will probably wear off over time.
