so disappointed in this product
I wish I had listened to the reviews. This item has been nothing but trouble since about 1 week after owning it. I have 1. purchased another pump because it kept failing. I thought that would work. Then the I replaced the tubing because it split. It leaks. It works for 20 minute intervals. I am so, so disappointed in this product. I think it has to be a design flaw, because with a new pump and new tubing, there is NO reason it should not work. Thumbs down. Worse yet, I doubt Exo Terra will do anything about it.

Great item
The media could not be loaded. It works really well! The pump doesn’t sit perfectly level in the well but it doesn’t seem to create any issues. It doesn’t raise my humidity either. Most of the poor reviews seem to have been from the item being received broken. No problem with that now. It was packed really well and double boxed

Love the Final Product, Had to Make it Work Myself
The media could not be loaded. I’m torn about giving this 3 stars, because I love the final product, but getting there was incredibly frustrating. I’m not sure if the inner workings that came with mine were just a manufacturing issue, but, in theory, you’re supposed to simply plug the tube that hangs down on the inside from the top of the waterfall into the pump that suctions to the bottom. Again, in theory, it should take less than a minute. However, the tube on the inside of mine was too short. It had a plastic tube coupler on the end that fit into the pump, so I know it wasn’t just cut off accidentally. I spent a frustratingly long time trying to make it work, because the pump also has to be suctioned in the right place for the power cord to exit out the space in the back, and that seemed to be set up backwards, and eventually I realized it was absolutely impossible to make the whole system work together. I *might* have been able to plug the tube into the pump, if the pump could have fit into the body of the waterfall(it can’t), and didn’t have to be suctioned to be the bottom(it does). The suction IS great, even on the dry surface, but there would have been no way to suction it to the bottom AND place it so the cord would be in the right place. Long story short, I ripped out the tube it came with and ended up using a silicone straw I had on hand that both fit in the hole at the top of the waterfall and fit over the male part of the coupling to plug into the pump. Also, I cut the straw, but had to leave a couple of extra inches so I could turn the pump for the power cord to be in the right spot. It may not be a forever solution, but so far it’s working pretty well. The straw goes all the way up to the top of the ceiling of the waterfall cavity and thankfully the water comes out normally, so I didn’t have to do any measuring or gluing to make sure it was flush with the top of the opening. I really like the waterfall itself, or otherwise, I would have returned it, and I’m excited for my beardie to have running water. It’s heavy enough that even when he was doing some glass-surfing yesterday, he didn’t knock it over even though it’s a small, and he’s easily twice as long as it is tall. I hope my review helps anyone else who might run into this issue. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the tubing/pump issue.

What's the Problem?
I bought this Exo-Terra waterfall for a boost of look in my snake tank but little did I know I was gonna have to remove it.I don't know if it was just the one I received or if others have had the same problem I have had with this product but...The motor gave out and kept stopping after a week of use. I tried taking the motor and waterfall apart but to no advale I just couldn't keep it up and running. The waterfall look is perfect but doesn't flow down like the pictures show you have to force the water up and around the rocks inorder for it to flow like the picture.Hopefully no-one else has the same problems I've had.I won't be buying this again nor do I recommend it.

It works but I would not buy it again
The product does work. It creates a nice little waterfall. However it did show up with one of the interlocking parts that attach the top and bottom broken and it was a serious hassle to install the pump. The included tubing is about 5/8ths of an inch too short. So if you have a great deal of patience you can finnagle the assembly and end up with a working product.

Defective
The pump hose is not long enough to reach pump, and the pump itself does not suction to interior. It would be easy enough to repair if you have extra hose, but why spend the money if it's not in working condition to begin with.

Love it!
I have to say I was a little nervous buying this after reading everyone else's reviews however so far so good. It was very easy to set up although the location of the power cord is a bit clumsy; that will make once more sense once you attempt to set it up yourself. This is the second Exo Terra pump product that I have purchased and I'm very pleased with both of them. The pump on the first one has lasted 6 months. I share that information because I have read a number of negative reviews about these products. This product was in great shape. It remains to be seen if my dragon will actually figure out how to use it! I like it so well I'm thinking about getting another one for my day gecko.

Broken
If it didn't come broken then this would be a good addition to the terrarium
