Got this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, who is obsessed with the TLOU video game and tv show. He had no idea this comic even existed, and was so excited to read it! It’s a prequel from before the video games AND before the show, so for anyone looking to gift someone else or themself some new content, this is a great choice!!

This was so insightful and a cool fleshing out of Ellie's "The Last of Us" story. It answered some questions that I had and even some that I didn't think to ask. I also LOVED the art style. Very fitting with the art we see on cartoon media we actually see in the game itself!

The game The Last of Us is this epic story of a journey through a post-apocalyptic world. There's a great deal of character building and American Dreams looks to build upon that. The comic itself is well drawn and does a great job capturing the bleakness of the game, but the story itself doesn't give you a great deal. In fact, I feel as though the entire point of the comic could have been expressed in a one page short story. It does give a little bit of background to the Left Behind DLC, but nothing so significant or ground breaking that you couldn't derive it from the DLC alone. In fact, I think I'd venture so far as to say Left Behind makes American Dreams entirely unnecessary as every notable point in it is covered in the game and done so in a more engaging and intimate way.However, taken on its own, the artwork and story of the comic make it worth reading if you think the price is fair.

I've been completely obsessed with The Last of Us, the characters, the incredible story, the stories within the story. The games were basically my first real experience with good interactive storytelling. This book is another little dose of what I can't seem to get enough of. I enjoyed it very. I love the games and I love comics so...yeah. I want more games, of course, but I'd also like to see more comics like this one.

Honestly I am a big big big fan of the Last of us! And this gives some great lore to the series. Highly recommend getting this for any die hard last of us fan!

I bought this as a present for my brother, but for some reason several of the pages seem to have not been cut properly. Attempts to cut or gently tear them apart is impossible without ruining the pages. Does this happen often? I wouldn't be so upset if it were one or two, but it's like, half the book. The art and story is good, though, y'know, what little we could read.Update: received a new one and it's perfect! The story is awesome and I dig the art.

I bought new and it came used with creases and rips in the front and back cover. Pretty disappointed
