Smoother ride for 94 e 350 van
1/2 the price than auto parts store. Good up grade on adventure van. Installing was easy enough, there shocks not hard just a pain. Took sawall and cut upper attachments.Riding smoothly now , hit plenty of pot holes to test them.

good shock...poor design from an Install perspective
I was really excited to upgrade the shocks on my Ford e-150. I was told gas shocks would make a big difference over the factory set. I like the fact that Monroe's are made in the USA and I will say the ride is improved. The negatives as many others have stated are although I believe it's a quality shock the replacement hardware seems almost like a joke in how heavy duty it is . Also and this is a big factor at the top of the shock is a nut that is welded onto the shock itself period you were supposed to be able to use this to help tighten the top not period on the OEM shock it is a nice wide nut that you can easily fit a wrench on on the replacement however the nut is not even close to his wide as a normal wrench and the world isn't clean so you can't get a wrench on there to tighten the new one down and if you do it wedges below the new hardware.

Waist of time and money!
So when I initially installed the shocks on my van they were absolutely amazing. About 60 to 90 days after installation these shocks turned right back in to the shocks I had previously. It felt exactly the same and road the same as before and that's why I changed them in the first place. I feel every bump every crack in the road and if I'm hauling something forget about it. In less than 6 months I'm going to have to purchase another set of shocks for both my front and back and install them. What a bunch of garbage! Thanks Monroe
