I have two miniature dachshund one is 11 years old and one is six years old. The 11 year old has gotten overweight and my doctor recommended that I go to a good dog food for seniors. After many reviews and Internet searches, I found out that DOG FOOD that starts out with, a meat as a number one ingredient is much better. I have since had a subscription to the Hills Science Dog food in the kibble size. Neither of my dogs had no problems, switching over to the newer dog food. They both seem to be tolerating it and eating it with no problems even though the younger dog is much more picky. He loves to get a mouthful and then walk away from the bowl and chew it. I was the person that thought I would never spend $100 on a dog or an animal but after spending 3 to $5000 on these two dogs, $50 for dog food for a couple months is well worth it.

Great for my senior dog
This is the only dog food I can find that says it's for dogs older than 12. She seems to be doing great on it so i will keep using it.

It's worth the money
My vet would recommend Science Diet through the years, but I thought it was just dog food so I didn't want to spend the extra money on an expensive brand. When our dog became older (10) and more frail we decided to just try it out. What a difference it made. His coat became thicker and shinier. He had more energy it was like he suddenly found the fountain of youth. Flash forward several years and our chihuahua is now 21 years old. He has health problems, but he's 21. I'm sure this food is one of the reasons he is still with us. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth it.

My 17 year old chug has been on this for 5 years.
My 17 year old chug is doing great on this dog food. He never hesitates to eat it when it's meal time. I will keep him on this for his lifetime.
