I moved from the city to a country home with well water. To treat our water, we needed to know what we were up against. This kit has everything we needed, plus more (in a good way). Sending it in, getting the analysis was easy. I recommend this product!

I ordered the test after reading that well water can potentially contain high levels of arsenic that's naturally found in rocks beneath the surface.The kit arrived quickly and it was easy to collect and return the sample for testing. The lab emails you when they receive the sample and when the results are posted.The ideal level of arsenic is zero. The EPA sets the acceptable upper limit at 10 parts per billion. New Jersey is even stricter at 5 ppb. My water tested at 36.3 ppb which is high and unsafe. I've been drinking the water for 23 years and have experienced several of the symptoms of arsenic poisoning. Arsenic can cause numerous health programs including cancer, heart disease, neuropathy, skin disorders and is absorbed by all of your organs.There are several ways to eliminate the arsenic from contaminated well water. If you have a private well, I recommend you get the water tested. The cost of the test is minimal to know if your water is unsafe.

Process was over a month long with no results. Got a refund. They claimed their “system was down” and would not give me a report after repeated attempts to get information about our water.

We used the ultimate test as a starting test to see what was in our new well. The instructions were well written, and easy to follow.The test results were very useful, but I did have to do a lot of research on what problems were flagged in the report because the link on their website to what all the tests mean is broken.The test is very expensive but it does show you practically everything you would need to know. Prior to purchasing this test, I called our state DEP Clean Water Department. I spoke with a gentleman about what tests I should preform. He told me that I didn’t need to test for all the parameters this test tested for and directed me to the states testing program. When I looked at the states testing program, the tests would have been more expensive than this test kit and they test for a lot more contaminants.If you have a new well, or have never done a full test, I would recommend this test. Once you know what you have in your well, you will know what to treat for, and you can just test for the contamination you know you have.

at first, i was hesitant to spend this amount on a kit i'd never used (...or even heard-of) before. but, it sounded very thorough, and that's what i was looking for, so i took the 'leap of faith.' the kit showed up in the mail the same week and arrived in great shape. the test bottles were very-well packaged/protected, and the instructions were easy to follow. minus my time to register online (10-15 minutes?), the actual testing only took 10 minutes. put it all back in the box, throw in a frozen cold-pack (included ! ), seal it, drop it off at usps or ups. results came via email in approx. 10 days. a sample of their report is attached to this review. their color-coding for each test/component made it easy to understand. green = good. red = bad. yellow= marginal. then, i was pleasantly surprised by a follow-up phone call about 2 weeks later. ( believe it or not, there are actually real, live people out there, after all. ) i ranked 'accuracy' as a 4 only because i have nothing else to compare this against. it might be a 5, and i'm just a novice at this. i ranked 'easy - to - read' is a 4 only because i don't have a lot of experience with the terminology, and the report didn't include a 'water-analysis for dummies' cheat-sheet to explain all this stuff. i google-d the red items on my report (thank goodness there were only 3... out of 300 ? items included in the lab screening process...) and found that they weren't a concern for human health / well-being.

It was so easy to do. I followed the instructions very carefully. Only tricky part was writing some info on the sample container cause it got a little wet. So you need to make sure it is very dry before writing on it. The postage was prepaid and got our results back in less than a week! Unfortunately the results confirmed the original county test showing arsenic levels double the EPA limit! So after further research I decided to buy a reverse osmosis system meant for well water for $500. It was somewhat straightforward to install. But after it was installed, I ordered another Safe Home arsenic test to see how well the filter was working. After a week, we got the results and they were at 20% of the EPA limit. I was thrilled. My family could begin drinking the water again. The home test was so easy and way cheaper than the county test. Plus it was fast. Just one week as opposed to a month from the county to get results. I will be ordering the Safe Home test yearly so I can monitor the levels and make sure my family continues to have good drinking water.
