Q: Are there refills available for the colored chalk markers?

These are solid pieces of tailor's chalk. There are 3 white, 3 yellow, 2 rose, and 2 blue pieces. They look like giant guitar picks.Their purpose is to make erasable guidelines on clothing or material you wish to hem, pleat, or cut and sew together. The advantage of using chalk instead of wax, which can also be used for that purpose, is that if you mismark with chalk, the chalk can be easily rubbed away. To remove wax marks you need to steam them away with an steam iron. The advantage of the wax alternative is that they won't get accidentally rubbed off.

Q: Will the colored chalk easily come off of lining and white fabric?

Yes, even the red with come off in the gentle cycle of tour washing machine. I used both the blue and the red on some snow white corduroy (tried it on a scrap piece first) and it came off easily without any water.

Q: Is it safe for sewing machine?

It cannot harm a sewing machine. It is chalk.....which evaporates when rubbed.

Q: Can you use this on damp fabric?

I wouldn't use this type of marker on damp fabrics. From my experience, damp fabrics have a tendency to clog the chalk within the marker, so it won't flow out to mark the fabric. I've had to throw markers away because the chalk got damp and I couldn't get it to dry enough to flow again.
