Supliments like Swanson Lactobacillus Acidophilus are impossible to evaluate because you have nothing to judge them against other than is your body is doing what they are supposed to help with. In this case, I think it is. What I look for when buying a supplement is it certified, the strength, the manufactures reputation, but principally, the unit price. Frequently advertised name brands are no better than the far less expensive generic brands. I would not have purchased this product if it did not offer good "band for the buck".

I love the Swanson products, but the shipping is taking a long time. I'm sure the product will be good once I receive it.

I love this both. This is a three pack. I keep it in my fridge diligently eating one or two per day to keep our gut healthy very satisfied with the product.

My old 5-star review follows below. I've reduced it to 3 stars as I've tried other better probiotics since then. Although this does work well, it contains only 1 billion micro-organisms per capsule. There are many others (PB-8, Powerdophilus) that contain 4 to 7 or more per capsule. This also contains gelatin, which is not required for probiotics.----------------------------------------------I've had lactose intolerance for as long as I can remember. The toughest to digest for me was cheese. Milk and cream came a close second. Yoghurt was OK.I avoided all dairy products as much as I could, and began using Lactaid (a Lactase supplement). This helped a bit, but I had to take several pills depending upon the amount of dairy I consumed at that time. Even then, the pills weren't as effective as the claims made.All of that is history, for I've finally conquered lactose intolerance with the Swanson Acidophilus capsules! I take at least two everyday, and when I add dairy to my meal, I take as many as six pills (3 before, 3 after) and I have no problems whatsoever! Probiotics can be consumed without guilt, as they aid the body's own defenses.
