Saeco 996530067961 (11026924) Portafilt Pres/Mec

I acquired a SAECO Barista expresso maker, made in Italy, a heavy and sturdy machine. Type SIN 006.I needed the right portafilter. This unit works great. Great expresso coffee, with the foam and all that. I do not get what the fuss is with the "dripping". I insert the portafilter correctly, pulling to the right till it is snug, and there is no dripping. True, perhaps a couple of times at first, when I did not insert it snug enough, there were a few drops from the tip of the handle, but not anymore. Also, it is light weight indeed, and for some reviewers it is an issue. I do not know why it would be, it being made with recycled aluminum or not. The brew obtained is excellent. Good purchase, great expresso.

Works great on my 20 yrs old Starbucks Barista expresso machine. No leaks and there's been an improvement on the quality of my Expresso.

This basket works just fine. I read a number of the negative reviews and agree that this device is somewhat lighter than the original, but the basket itself is steel, not aluminum. I would have to try hard to cut my finger on the rim of the basket but suppose it could be done. I'm back to being able to make a fine cup of espresso with my 14-year-old Saeco.

It is much lighter (cheaper?) than the originals but I haven't had any problems with leaks and it seems to make shots the same as the old style.

This portafilter is pretty much junk. I tried to save a few bucks by ordering it, but I wish I’d just shelled out for the real OEM version (this is not OEM, whatever the listing claims). For one thing, it leaks from the end of the handle — pretty ridiculous. Even worse, the screws that hold it together on the bottom of the basket are constantly coming loose — I’ve had TWO of the three find their way into my garbage disposal, which means I’ll have to replace them. Buy the real OEM version, not this one.

Super light weight with sharp edges… Purchased as a replacement for our old Starbucks Barista, but the quality just didn’t match up. Returned, and continuing to search.

Many people said that this portafilter was of lower quality and unacceptable, but to be honest, I'm not an espresso machine expert, I simply enjoy having an espresso pulled from my at-home Starbucks Barista each morning. After the last one broke during cleaning, I needed a new one urgently. This one came and I personally could tell no difference in the espresso, if anything it was even better because the last one was very old. If you need a new portafilter for your machine, this one will do the job!

The Gaggia item I received is well made and works very well. It is at least equal to the one that came with my Saeco Aroma machine. It has a nice heft (not underweight) and looks stylish. As I've seen happen before with orders from Amazon vendors, you may not always get what you saw described in the ad. In this case, it was better. In a previous order for the same item, I got a lightweight item that worked reasonably well, but was nowhere near the quality of the Gaggia.
