You want to know what else this is good for? Chopsticks! We have two large sets of chopsticks (one set is lacquered wood, the other is metal), and they both fit in the case beautifully, with enough room left over to hold a set of corn-cob holders, too.Very useful case. Great for organising. Would highly recommend.

8-24-13. I wanted a nice box to create a suitable Brause (Blick Art Material) calligraphy tip (nibs) and pen storage case. The ArtBin Pencil/Utility Translucent Box, Charcoal plastic box is perfect. I cut 1/2 inch thick dense flexible foam to fit into the top two storage slots (nearest the hinge) and glued the foam in place, then overlaid the foam with a nice white craft paper liner that I glued into the area above the foam. I experimented using a sharp curved (similar to the curve of the nibs) hobby knife blade to cut slots at a 45 degree angle into the foam through the paper, 1-inch apart. I switched to a straight angled, very sharp, blade and cut a "V" shaped slot for each nib. I labeled each slot with the size of the nib. The nibs fit perfectly into the slots for storage and the pen holders fit perfectly into the remaining storage area next to the closure clips. Very nice gift for a friend.

I really like the size of this box. It's great for my charcoal pencils, blending stumps, xacto knife, etc. the separate spaces let me keep the white charcoal and fresh blenders separated.

This is a GREAT little pencil box. It is thin, sturdy, and not over sized. You can fit a wide array of pencils/pens/markers in it just fine to cover any need you may have in class, around the home, or office with no issue.I have always found that the traditional pencil boxes are just way too large for my needs. If you feel the same then this is the option for you!The plastic used is flexible enough to take hits and drops without cracking, while being hard enough to keep its form and function.The 2 clips are tight, but not overly tight which provides a secure closure that is easy to open when needed. I have thrown this in bags, drawers and the trunk of my car and never had it open up on me!5 out of 5 stars! I definitely recommend!

I've got kiddos, nieces, nephews, and such, that love art. For those that are legit into pen art, or pencil -- this is the gift they don't know they need.I would recommend adding it with some pens or pencils, quality eraser or sharpener, that they might like. Otherwise a just a pen case just seems lame.

I bought these for storing my drawing equipment. It easily fit two micron pens lengthwise, and could stack up to 3 pens. I would say this fits 12 micron pens in center and back dividers, and maybe only 8 micron pens in the front divider (it is more narrow due to the room taken up by the clasps. I bought one for pens and one for other drawing supplies (blending stumps, pencils, erasers, and small plastic rulers) and find them easy to use (one-handed opening and closing) and they stack well without sliding around. The little bit of foam at one end is a nice idea to protect pencil tips, but I just am in the habit of tucking pencil tips into the ends of my shortest paper blending sticks, so I haven't really tested if the foam really is that protective. There are lots of good options out there, and this one best fit my needs being longer than most pencil cases. This may make it too big and bulky to fit in many drawers though.
