Hathor Rising: The Power of the Goddess in Ancient Egypt
C**R
Well-rounded, multi-faceted
A beautiful book that is well annotated, I it crosses the divide between a technical academic work and one readily accessible by the more general reader. It is well-presented and copiously illustrated, pleasant as a book for serious study or for coffee-tables, but the main value is that Dr Roberts, from her choice of examples and the particular emphasis within the examples , an insight into many of the spiritual/psychological processes at the core of much Egyptian mythology. This is not something she dwells on, but it makes the exegesis more straightforward for the more serious reader.
