These have to be some of the best socks I have ever worn. I have always liked an over-the-calf sock. I was in the military and had to wear combat boots 99% of the time and I got used to having an over-the-calf sock...that and I HATE when socks fall down around the ankles and don't stay up. That just bugs me. These socks, I must say, are tremendous! They stay up, they are very supportive, thick and comfortable. And, might I add, very durable. I now work in the food industry and I am on my feet 10 or more hours per shift. These socks really help my feet to feel good, even at the end of the day. I can't say enough good things about the Gold Toe product!My first set of 3 I wore for about a year before small holes and thin spots formed...so to me, that is very durable. I just received my second set of 3 and am enjoying them VERY much!Try these, you WILL like them!

Excellent quality of socks! I used to purchase these socks from the local outlet store but when it closed I was forced to order online. Let me tell you, I think these are better quality socks than those that I had purchased from the outlet. I have had these socks for a few months now and the elastic is still holding up with no sag, this is a big point on my part as I am always wearing boots, either cowboy or work. Based on my experience so far, I plan to continue to purchase these socks for years to come, as they are a true value for the price. They aren't cheap but they do offer value in comfort and longevity; you get what you pay for.

It is really hard to buy these socks on the internet because you want the over the calf to be tight so they don't slide down but not so tight they are hard to put on. It is even hard to judge them in the store without trying them on. Also it is hard to judge over the internet the consistency of the material. I like a thinner sock and these were a little heavier than I might like. That said I have had over the calf Gold Toe socks which I have worn once every other week for over 15 years and they have stood up well.

After wasting money on several OTC sox, I finally found the right ones. I ordered compression socks (over the calf) and they cut into my legs (I'm not heavy - just 172 lbs) after a days wear, plus, I could hardly get them on and off - and they were much more expensive. These gold toes are perfect - fit snugly, but not too tight and are a good weight. I wear them with 10 in. boots or with casual shoes. I'm very active and they never slide down. I love 'em, will buy more and highly recommend them. The value is tremendous for what you get.

Not so good qualities with first wash started to loose fabric material and shape. Probably hand wash is a solution but who has the time..?

I was surprised how thick the socks were. My husband was willing to wear them but said they were definitely thicker than his other dress socks and also didn't go up as high as his usual socks from Lands End. I won't be ordering them again as they were just okay.

I bought these for my husband, who has swollen ankles. The socks seem to be well made. Everyone else's reviews here were wonderful. However, these socks are NOT for people with circulatory problems. I couldn't even get my hand into one of these socks (my husband said he couldn't get them on, so I wanted to try them out). There is no stretch in the width. I couldn't even get my hand into the top of the calf, and I have very small hands. They were so tight. We had to throw them away.
