It's a great recipe book but it does not have many images of those mouthwatering recipes.

Great addition to a vegetarian's cookbook collection!
I have been a vegetarian for thirty years and collected many vegetarian cookbooks in that time. Sanaa's Vegetarian Mediterranean Cookbook has become one of my favorites! It is a very personal cookbook from a farmer's daughter raised in Syria. She has a no fuss approach which makes the recipes easy to follow and complete, but it is also chock-full of knowledgeable, food and cooking info. The author/chef wants us to eat good food that is good for us. It's a very caring cookbook with delicious recipes.

Just OK
If you aren't aiming for a strict Mediterranean meal plan then this book is ok. I was surprised to see whole milk and butter used in some of the recipes. From what I'm learning, usually the only dairy eaten on Mediterranean diets are some cheeses and yogurts. I was also surprised to see regular sugar used in the desserts instead of the more natural Mediterranean sweeteners such as honey, dates or maple syrup. I would also have liked to see more photos in the book. I tried a few of the recipes already and they were ok. I just had to do a little tweaking to make to my liking. I'm just going to avoid the ones that aren't strict Mediterranean since I'm eating this way for a healthier lifestyle.
