Like the functionality, love the design
I got a set of this Lido style door handles to replace some Schlage ones. I loved it so much I ended up replacing every doorknob in my house with this style. The rubbed bronze looks very high quality, though it wouldn't have been my first choice except for the fact that all my faucets and other things around the house are bronze, so I needed to match them. Nevertheless, they look great.Pros:[+] Quality. These are quite heavy and practically 100% metal, which makes them look and feel very sturdy.[+] Noise. They aren't completely silent but they were much quieter than my old Schlage handles. This was actually the main reason I decided to upgrade, is I hate when it's impossible to open a door at night without waking up everyone in a 3 mile radius.[+] Rekeying. I was able to buy a deadbolt & handle set as well as the fancy front-door style handle and deadbolt set. They came keyed differently, but I was able to follow the instructions without much trouble and rekey them so I can use one set of keys on all of them.[+] Style. I really love the general aesthetics of these. All of the similar handles I looked at looked really boring in comparison.[+] Reversible. Super easy to switch any knob back and forth between right-handed and left-handed.[+] Indoor locks. The interior locked handles I got are great. I hate the cheap kind that you can open from the outside by just putting your fingernail in the big slot and turning your finger half way. These ones require the smaller included tool that has to go all the way inside the knob to grab the unlocking mechanism.Cons:[-] My keyed handle that I put in my garage, I could not figure out a way to reverse the keyhole. It's a left-handed knob, and I was able to switch the knob to be left handed fairly easily, but that left the keyhole upside-down. Maybe there is a way to do it, but if so, I couldn't figure it out. Not a huge deal since it still works just fine, but it does bug me a little to look at an upside-down keyhole.[-] The indoor strike plates were great, but my garage and front door set weren't the standard size you usually see, so in order to use them it would have required me to re-drill all the holes and recessed part of the door frame to fit properly. Too much trouble, I just left the old strike plates on instead, which worked perfectly fine with these handles. Just a little bit worn down from all the years they were paired with my old knobs. Not a big deal though. Conclusion:Replacing every handle in my house was a little pricey, but I am thrilled with the results. I just staggered my orders so I could replace the handles in separate phases, one floor at a time. So it didn't seem quite as expensive as doing them all together. But I think the price was worth it because these are extremely nice.

Secret step missing from instructions.
My new Lido Lever Entry was delivered quickly and after a long period of working with the support staff, it is working great. 5 stars for their working with me to making it right.Since this set has a lever that sticks out to the side, it should be obvious you need to be able to reverse the handle to meet your conditions (left or right opening). The set comes preconfigured for one direction. So, 50% of you will not need the following information. However, if you happen to need the lever on the left side of the lock as you look at the outside of the door, you will have to reverse the handle. That is where the unmentioned trick is.Follow the installation instructions all the way to the last step where it says to reverse the handles - without saying how to. Half of you will discover there is no problem inserting the included Allen wrench and loosening the set screw. The other half will discover the Allen wrench will only go in about 1/4 inch and there is no set screw to loosen. That is because the key lock is in the locked position. When locked, the internal mechanism prevents the Allen wrench from passing 3/4 inch in to reach the set screw - on the other side of the whole mechanism. If you don't unlock it, it is impossible to reverse the handles. Unfortunately, the instructions do not mention this.Once the support tech and I discovered this trick, the completion was easy and my door works and looks great! I am buying a couple more because I love to be able to open the door with my elbow while carrying 2 hands full of groceries or tools. When I install the next ones, I will take a couple snap shots and update this review showing how to reorient the lock tumbler (key teeth up or down). Stay tuned.Update:Here ya go. To reorient the tumbler you must;1.) Remove the exterior handle (remember, it must be unlocked to do that).2.) Work a small screw driver under the retaining ring and pull it out (see photo).3.) Don't loose this retaining ring or you will discover why mechanics call them Jesus rings.4.) Pull the tumbler out of the lock, turn it upside down, and re-insert it.5.) Reinstall the retainer ring and handle. If you encounter a problem in step three, don't curse. Just buy another doorknob set.Update the update:Oh cookies! they will not allow me to add photos during an update.I'll try writing another review and add pictures there.

Read These Key Points
=== MECHANICAL ===I Purchased the Lido Satin Nickle keyed entry to replace the exact model and finish. The original was in use for years and began to wear mechanically from constant daily use. I have another installed on a different door that is still mechanically sound. Overall the quality is good.=== SMART KEY ===With the Smart Key technology you can:• Add or replace locks without having to pay to rekey any locks.• Temporarily rekey a lock. For example if a contractor needs access to your home you can rekey a lock using any compatible Kwikset key, give it to the contractor and rekey back to your normal key when the job is done. The Kwikset lock comes with two keys or you can get random cut Kwikset keys on Amazon or wherever.• Rekey all locks yourself fast if your keys are compromised. For example your driver license with your address and your keys are stolen together.=== STYLE AND FINISH ===As with the Lido I’m replacing I have the Lido style throughout the house for bath, bedroom and closets. The finish is still as good as new including the lock on a security screen door that get its fair share of direct sunlight.=== LIDO SATIN NICKLE AVAILABILITY ===As of this review date:• The Satin Nickle keyed entry is available on Amazon.• Home Depot list the single Lido Satin Nickle keyed entry (without the deadbolt set) as discontinued.• Lowes lists the keyed single entry Satin Nickle as available for about $4.00 more than Amazon.• The Kwikset website shows the keyed entry Satin Nickle as available and NOT discontinued.
